Welcome to the Anjuman-e-Husami website and to the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat of Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. We are part of an ever-growing and flourishing family of Mumineen, as our beloved Moula Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) addresses us, in the USA and Canada. While our Jamaat or congregation of mumineen has lived here in the vicinity of Atlanta for many years, we were officially incorporated as "Anjuman-e-Husami" approximately five years ago.
We recently celebrated a significant milestone in the history of our Jamaat with the purchase of a large tract of land suitable for construction of our future Masjid complex. Located on one end of this land is a house for Aamil Saheb’s residence as well as a large hall with amenities that we are currently using for all miqaat. The property is conveniently located less than 3 miles from interstate 85. A vast majority of mumineen families live close to this property and with this purchase, many other mumineen are now planning to move close to it as well.

We are currently comprised of approximately 55 mumineen families in Atlanta alone. We are an active Jamaat holding all deeni miqaat as well as madresah and asbaaq. Within our Jamaat the organizations of Burhani Women's and Shabab are performing khidmat with dedication and enthusiasm. The days and nights of Shehrullah and Ashara are particularly inviting to mind, body and spirit here in Atlanta. Activities centered around Namaaz, Niyaz, Waaz and Doa consume mumineen throughout these days. We invite all mumineen living in this four state area as well as visitors to come be with us and to participate.

Please contact Aamil Saheb or any of the Tanzeem committee members for additional information and also for any help you may require while in our midst and we will be happy to do our best. We are now in the process of planning and seeking necessary approvals before starting construction of our Masjid complex. We pray that this dream of ours comes true in the near future by the grace of Allah and the Doa Mubarak of Waliullah, Moula Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS...Ameen.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) Family Tree:

Muhammad (S.A.W) was born into the Quraysh tribe. He was the son of Abd Allah, son of Abd al-Muttalib (Shaiba) son of Hashim (Amr) son of Abd Manaf (al-Mughira) son of Qusai (Zaid) son of Kilab son of Murra son of Ka'b son of Lu'ay son of Ghalib ibn Fahr (Quraysh) son of Malik son of an-Nadr (Qais) son of Kinana son of Khuzaimah son of Mudrikah (Amir) son of Ilyas son of Mudhar son of Nizar son of Ma'ad son of Adnan, whom the northern Arabs believe to be their common ancestor. Adnan in turn is said to have been a descendant of Ishmael, son of Abraham.

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was born in the month of Rabi' al-awwal in 570. He belonged to the Banu Hashim, one of the prominent families of Mecca, although it seems not to have been prosperous during Prophet Muhammad's (S.A.W) early lifetime. Tradition places the year of Prophet Muhammad's (S.A.W) birth as corresponding with the Year of the Elephant, which is named after the failed destruction of Mecca that year by the Aksumite king Abraha who had in his army a number of elephants.

Prophet Muhammad's (S.A.W) father, Abdullah (AS), died almost six months before he was born. According to the tradition, soon after Muhammad's birth, he was sent to live with a Bedouin family in the desert as the desert-life was considered healthier for infants. At the age of six, Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) lost his mother Maulatena Amena binte Wahb (AS) to illness and he became fully orphaned. He was subsequently brought up for two years under the guardianship of his paternal grandfather Abdul Muttalib (AS), of the Banu Hashim clan of the Quraysh tribe. When he was eight years of age, his grandfather also died. Muhammad now came under the care of his uncle Abu Talib (AS), the new leader of Banu Hashim.
